Book Request from WorldCat
If you are a current Dominican University student, faculty or staff member and the book you need is not held at an CARLI library, please follow these directions to find the book and have it sent to the Rebecca Crown Library through interlibrary loan.
Use a database called "WorldCat" to find a library that owns the book you need:
- 1. Select "WorldCat" from the list of databases provided on the library's website.
- 2. Search for the book you want by title, author, or keyword.
- 3. Click on the "Libraries Worldwide" link in the record of the desired item.
- 4. Click on the "ILL"
- 5. Type in the information requested (Required fields are marked with an asterisk [*] and labeled in red) .
- 6. Click the "Submit" button. (If you change your mind, you may click on the "Cancel" button to nullify the request.) Your request will then be sent to the Interlibrary Loan Department. All bibliographic information for the requested item will automatically be included.
- 7. Click on "Exit" in the top right hand corner of your screen.
Your book will be sent to the Rebecca Crown Library and you will be contacted to pick it up at the Circulation Desk (first floor) in the Library. The loan period for the book is set by the lending library.
You may return the book to the Circulation Desk.
Please allow 10-14 days to receive requested materials.
