Interlibrary Loan Service
Interlibrary Loan is a service from the Rebecca Crown
Library that supports the research, teaching and coursework needs
of Dominican University by providing access to materials from libraries
throughout the United States. Interlibrary loans supplement the
resources held by the Rebecca Crown Library in print or through
full-text online databases. This service is restricted to current
Dominican University students, faculty and staff. Use Interlibrary
Loans to borrow books and to receive photocopies of journal articles
held by other libraries.
On average, it takes 10 working days to fill an Interlibrary
Loan request, though it can take as little as 3 days or as long
as 1 month to receive materials, depending on the location and the
availability of the item at other libraries. Interlibrary
Loan staff will attempt to borrow books from closer libraries first
and journal articles from libraries that transmit electronically.
Requests are usually processed within 24 hours of receipt.
Requests submitted after 3:00 p.m. or on weekends will be processed
on the next business day.
Materials should be requested well in advance of deadlines.
To improve the success of your request, submit an accurate, complete
and unabbreviated citation.
To make a request, follow these links according to the type of
material you need:
> Books
from ILCSO Libraries (Libraries in Illinois that share
the I-Share Online catalog)
> Books
from Libraries that are not members of ILCSO
> Articles
from journals, magazines or newspapers
